Toy Machine

Toy Machine was started in 1993 by Ed Templeton through the support of Tod Swank and Tum Yeto Distribution. After turning pro for New Deal only two years prior, Ed was eager for the chance to create something new with Toy Machine. What would follow remains to be one of the most iconic brands in skateboarding.

With no social media and the internet still in early stages of development, the impact of skateboarding videos in the ‘90s was much more profound. It was through these videos that Toy Machine soon developed a cult following. Barrier-breaking videos such as “Welcome to Hell” and “Jump off a Building” inspired countless skateboarders including many of today's top pros.

Another one of the key differentiators between Toy Machine and other companies are their cast of fictitious characters portrayed in board graphics; most of which are created by Ed. From the yellow-horned devilish monster to the bloodshot cyclops and turtle boy. Toy Machine offers up an alternative to the abundance of conservative board graphics out there.
