Released in 1992 the Half Cab was a true icon of innovation. Street skaters in the 90's would cut off the collar of the original Vans Caballero pro model giving birth to the Half Cab. With skateboarding ever changing Vans completely revamped the Half Cab creating, the Vans Skate Half Cab. This shoe apart of "Vans Skate Classics" line of footwear. The most iconic skate shoes created by Vans but revamped to fit the needs of modern day skateboarding. These shoes integrate tongue straps for a snug fit, DURACAP™ underlay for durability, SickStick™ a rubber compound used to make a grippy outsole, and internal heel shanks to deliver more board feel in order to create a classic yet modern skate shoe.

Vans Skate Half Cab Shoes - black/black
Over all this is a solid feeling skate shoe, it flicks great and takes impact perfectly. Besides that the quality could be better. I found that the main weak spot of the shoe is the canvas back upper, this part of the shoe rips pretty easily and the rips grow with time. Another thing is that it leaves the laces pretty exposed, so I would recommend putting super glue on your laces. The over all quality of the materials is a solid 7.5/10 because of the toughness of the suede. Although extremely stiff at first after a few days the shoes mold to you feet and become broken in. The board feel is a solid 9.5/10 and the flick is a 9/10. Over all I really love the shoe I am just a little bummed about the canvas ripping so easily.

These vans half cab are really comfortable and are very nice looking. I ride bmx cruiser at least 4 times a week 27miles per ride and I love the look and comfort ????
